Koala Neebu.

Nithroy
Gender:
Female, believe it or not.
Current Standing:
Student.
Detailed Appearance:
Her height holds no competition - standing at a very modest height of 5"1, her somewhat childish figure brings others to believe her younger than she really is. Surprisingly, the numbers on the scale is not as high as some would think, considering how much Luki consumes per day. She is at an average weight, neither slim nor chubby due to her love for climbing and scaling impossibly steep objects.
Her skin tone is pale, not sickly so, but enough to know that she doesn't like the sun enough to prance around in it. A very faint blush of pink is always present across her cheeks, and if you fit the slight roundness of her face, it gives her an almost innocent appearance in retrospect.
Delicate eyelashes sweep over slitted, very dark green eyes. If one looked closely, they would only see the shimmer of emerald lurking in lazy depths, but from a far, it simply looks like lax grey flecked with black. Her hair is kept long in thin strands, slightly styled but mostly unkempt. It is colored at a koala fur bluish grey, uneven bangs poking at the very corners of her eyes as if pleading to be pushed aside.
Luki follows the general dress code, although prefers not to clothe herself in outlandish colors as most of her species do. Her usual attire seems to follow a modern Chinese fashion; baggy pants, royal colors, high collars at times and front jacket buttons. If anything, it's because it's easy to move in, it's light, and it's comfortable to sleep in.
Being a Koala Neebu, she possesses black, hooked 'claws', if you will, in place of fingernails. They are short, blunt and really only useful for picking up food and putting it in her mouth. Her animal side is not really shown through her appearance, but more so through her actions and qualities.

Personality:
If you want to throw a shoe at someone, then Luki would be the best person to target. She is almost never quick to anger, and would simply offer your shoe back with an apologetic smile - "Sorry, I got in the way," - and carry on with whatever she was doing. Her dreamy personality, and airy attitude to everything of interest can be debated - would she realize the ditch in front of her, before it was too late? Hardly likely, but it would be worth giving a shout.
Despite her habit to ignore things outside her bubble, she's quite a pleasant creature if you have the patience to stick around. She can be annoyingly clueless, to the point of murder, but sometimes it's because you merely need to repeat your question/statement/answer. Luki is willing to help people when she feels up to it, and not because she wants to, but because she's far too lazy to get anywhere within an hour. A procrastinator by heart and mind, and a definite couch potato, if she didn't dislike the materialistic softness.
However.
If you think you can push her around, you need to pick your times wisely. She is terribly aggressive when it comes to protecting her food and nap times - if you nick her lunch, she'll have her claws out and ready to tear through you. If you exaggerate the sharpness of her fingers by ten, then it's highly likely that you'll be intimidated. Of course, this usually drops off in about an hour when she gets tired of trying to snatch her food back and simply kicks you in the shin.
If you try to poke her awake, she'll bite your hand off (or make an attempt to), and if you take the special spork she always carries, then you'll be a eucalyptus leaf in her eyes - a snack and run.
Throw a shoe at her, go ahead. But don't touch that passionfruit...
Prized Possessions:
A silver spork given to her by an esteemed Aunt from her father's side when she was five. This was only because it was the one 'precious' object the Aunt had left at the time, and Luki was not above throwing a fit if she didn't get something. To this day, she uses her spork for various reasons - prodding foreign objects for one, but she has never put it in her mouth with food wrapped around. Maybe it was a chew toy when she was smaller, but she would deny all evidence of such a scandalous act.
History:
Chapter I
Strength and Power?
These words were laughable the moment she was able to speak. Luki was never a strong child, either physically or mentally. In fact, she could barely restrain the need to eat almost every single hour, and her parents disapproval was the only reason stopping her from contracting diabetes at a young age. Her family were Koalas - have you ever, in your entire life, seen a koala lifting weights and snacking on a juicy plant?
Because of this unfortunate twist, Luki's family were always outcasts among the neighbors, who were vicious Bobcats, Sharks in the pool, snapping Falcons. The birth of a Koala child made things somewhat worse - there was no knowing what the other 'children' could do when faced with a gluttonous female with a spork.
When she was five, her salvation was the backyard tree. Sharks couldn't climb, and though Falcons could fly, she knew the places where beaks couldn't reach her. Even if she couldn't count simple numbers, she could scramble up a trunk quick as whip, thanks to her animal heritage. Of course, the very thing that allowed her to do such a thing, was the root of the problem.
Chapter II
The school she attended was kinder - she mingled with the other herbivores, taking comfort in the numbers and she also knew that silence was probably the best solution. Her one year of education was uneventful, she was happy to keep it that way. The 'passage rites' (not really) were passed with ease - hide in a tree, and munch on edible foliage. Cowardly, but it worked, and she was pleased with this way.
However, her family didn't want to risk a dead carcass on their hands, so they decided to move themselves. When Luki was seven, she was deemed fit for travel. Having just started Neebu school, the young girl was fairly upset and did not like the way her parents were dragging her to a far off country. Though her disapproval was voiced quite strongly, there was nothing she could say to her parents to dissuade from their decision.
From Nithroy to the place where all Aliens were ending up - Earth, or Touchdown City. Luki, being an odd Neebu who disliked strobe lights and devastating colors, absolutely despised this Earth thing. The fact that there was hardly any plant life, and the trees were now in scarce demand made things worse.
She threw fits, she ranted, she sulked (but ate) and rebelled. Her parents were forced to administer a counselor for their distraught child, in efforts to mediate her temper.
The results were welcome, yet unsettling.
Chapter III
She was lovingly transformed from a bad-tempered girl, to a female with a personality that leaves much to be wondered. Possibly, her bad temper is shown through food snatchers and morning people, but she can easily restrain her angry moods and bouts with ease - you'll never guess what's behind that mask.
She now attends high-school on Earth, with a mix of different races amongst the throng. Sometimes she makes it a point not to tell people what she is, but tends to in the end. This is probably due to her inability to restrain herself from climbing trees and walls, and was commonly referred to as a gecko. Things weren't great, but they weren't bad either.
The usual teenage phase of finding oneself was nigh, and it was no different for Lukira. Her mood was intact, but she was introverted and unsociable for a few years to come. This was the worst time to pick to grow up - family problems started to occur, and obviously, things went downhill from there.
Chapter IV
From the minute they landed on Earth, things were already tense between Luki's mother and father. They both agreed that it was best, but her mother hadn't expected their stay to be permanent. Her father rather liked the nightlife and bars, and preferred to stay here. This immediately escalated into fights, to which Luki was either painfully unaware, or desperately tried to ignore.
The split was inevitable, although it was slow moving and gradual. Her parents spent less time with each other, her father not returning home until the wee hours of the morning were approaching. Her mother decided that enough was enough. Despite Luki's pleading, she couldn't dissuade her parents from distancing themselves.
Luki's parents now live in separate apartments, and even if the divorce was not official, their daughter referred to it as such. She spends much of her time at companion's homes, sometimes sleeping over at her mothers, and sometimes at her fathers.
Her family strain is always heavy, but she's learned to control outrageous tempers and lonely nights. Even if she hates Earth, she can't go anywhere but live life as it is - that is, sleep and eat. A delicate balance, surely, but she supposes she can handle the stress like no-one else can.
Roleplay Sample:
'Huh...it's so...bright...'
A thin wrist dropped over half-lidded eyes, shielding the poor girl from the streaks of sun piercing through the branches and leaves. For all it was worth, at least she was outside today, and not holed up with a can of peaches in her room. One of her rooms, anyway.
But flinging herself on a park bench beneath the trees that were most likely next to be cut down. She rather enjoyed napping in this spot, when weather allowed it, but she was always half afraid that she would come here and her seat would be boiling by the unrestrained heat.
There was a simple solution, if she thought about it. Gather a couple of eco-friendly companions, and chain themselves to the trunks. That should stop the lumberjacks and chainsaws from cutting into the wood - unless they didn't care about aliens, then they would have to gather a couple of Greenpeace members.
Then again, Luki didn't care much for the humans either, and liked to make it a point to distance herself away from them. Lord knows what goes on in their mind when they see her fingers - it was like hidden disgust and plastic pleasantness - hello, goodbye - but the Koala girl always took it in her stride.
Who cares what they thought. It was their planet primarily, but they should at least try to be hospitable.
But before her thoughts could go any further, Luki groaned beneath her arm, the sound muffled and muzzled. The ever apparent pink tinge on her cheeks were now, possibly, a burning scarlet judging from the terrible discomfort and stickiness of her clothing.
It wasn't just bright, it was damn hot to boot.
"Umbrella! Please!"
But the plea went unheard, as her limb effectively cut off coherent sounds from emitting.
It was typical of her to blame the disgusting climate on humans themselves, considering the fact that she disliked learning about the ozone layer, and what have you. If people just stopped polluting so much, or whatever, then they wouldn't have this problem!
Then again, it was also summer, and the sun showed itself fairly often in this season. Another reason why she didn't like the interchangeable weathers - just because she was warm blooded, didn't mean she preferred hot to cold. It was the complete opposite, and her parents had already sent her to the doctor's once or twice to get a check up.
Was it possible to have a reptile for a daughter, if the parents were both mammals? It was impossible - even if Karma was being particularly nasty and unfair, that contradicting act of nature would be blasphemous in its own right. Although it would already be a historic moment for her people, if she really did turn out to be a gecko with thumbs.[/blockquote]
